Last night, despite a torrential downpour, a nice sized crowd came out for the opening of the latest group show organized by Artfront Galleries. I had four prints of my illustrations on display in the exhibition, where about 50 pieces (paintings, photos and sculptures) were on display. I was the only illustrator. For those who live in the area, the works will remain on view through the month at 50 Broadway in Newark, NJ. As always with Artfront Galleries shows, the venue isn’t a regular art gallery, but a vacant storefront. Some local arts people who spoke at the event seemed pretty excited about this concept and it seems to have really helped to revitalize the arts scene in Newark. I was glad to be a part of it.
