Yikes — has it really been six weeks since my last post? I didn’t mean to let that happen. Clearly I have some work to do in balancing studio time with family/work time. I also want to post more even if it’s for updates that don’t involve new illustrations. Because, well, sometimes I have things to say about art and fashion in general and there isn’t always time to… well… illustrate those things, even if a picture is worth a thousand words.

Meanwhile, here’s my latest illo, which was inspired by the beautiful gowns and other pieces shown at the Alexander McQueen Ready To Wear show at New York Fashion Week Fall 2015. I really loved all the filmy tiered gowns and Victorian looking cuts on all the pieces. The mussed up hairstyles on the models along with the goth clothing gave the whole line on a very Tim Burton villainess feel.

In other news, I just learned that I’m going to be showing in two group shows coming up, one a print, photography and painting show this month, the other an exhibition of postcard sized works in June. The organizer is ArtFront Galleries, a Newark, NJ-based organization that puts pop-up galleries in vacant storefronts. I’ll post details on both soon. In the meantime, hope everyone has a great weekend.
