Happy early spring, everyone. I’ve been looking for an excuse to paint something involving cherry blossoms (none of which I’ve actually seen yet in NYC) but I would say spring finally coming last week qualifies.
I know this watercolor isn’t very fashiony but I guess it’s my subconscious’s way of telling me I need to get outside more, and read more, and not just blogs and the news, either. I also made a point of not getting too precise with any of my painting this time by attempting to slavishly depict anyone in particular (or her outfit). Instead I just went where my mood took me. The result may not be a masterpiece but I actually feel a lot more at peace having left my comfort zone a bit.
This post is linked to Paint Party Friday. Hope everyone is having a creative week.
Wow, you are quite the artist, this is beautiful! Cherry blossoms are my favorite 🙂
This is completely charming. There is nothing like reading a good book under the shade of a tree. I adore cherry blossoms so much!
May the force be with you.

What a pretty picture. I love the cherry blossom parade that they have in DC and West Virginia. They really are gorgeous.
That is extremely gorgeous! I wish I could see actual cherry blossoms. California does not have any around for me to see in the flesh.

It’s gorgeous!! I just adore blossom trees, am waiting for the ones around my house to start sprouting!! Magical. Love the art work. It’s important to push outside the boundaries and explore what more you can do!! I hope you have a great week ahead doll, thank you for popping to my blog 🙂 xx
I just love that you left your comfort zone for this!
It’s so important to stretch ourselves, in order to grow 🙂
I can relate to leaving your comfort zone – I’m working on loosening up – letting my arm and the paint take over a bit. I think you did a wonderful job – it’s a very sweet painting. HPPF
We had snow in Ohio on the first day of Spring, so cherry blossoms and reading a book under a tree are just the thing I needed….lovely work!
I love cherry blossoms, they’re blooming here right now, but they are here for but a short time. I love that you’ve captured this beautiful moment in time, it is a very serene scene.
I love the loose way this is painted, and the limited colourpalette
I think she looks pretty fashionable sitting under that tree. Reminds me of a dreamy perfume shot. Happy PPF!
