A couple of weeks ago I was delighted to learn that I was the winner in a giveaway being organized by Wallace Chapman’s Street and City Photos.

The prize? The pair of Karen Walker sunnies I’m wearing in this photo. For this giveaway, Wallace randomly chose a comment that had been left on his blog in a month’s worth of posts. (This, I think, is a lesson that it’s important to be a good blog reader and leave helpful feedback — and not just when you want to win something or promote yourself.) And if you haven’t seen his blog yet, I recommend it to anyone who likes street style snaps; Street and City Photos is an award-winning blog based out of New Zealand.

Anyway while I don’t normally like orange anything, I thought these shades were the perfect way to inject a little color into my mostly black wardrobe, so I’m sure I’ll be getting use out of them.

This promotion has gotten me thinking though. I promised myself I’d organize a giveaway once my blog turned a year old, which it will next month! Time really does fly when you’re having fun. As for what the prize will be, I haven’t figured it out yet but will make an announcement soon.

I’m also wearing an American Apparel hat, Urban Outfitters dress, tights from I don’t remember but probably Target, oxford heels from H&M and bag by Isabelle Fiore.
